Certified Tutor
Hello! My name is Marcy, and I am a proud product of Seattle Public Schools. I completed my Masters in Teaching in 2014, and spent the past two years as a 4th/5th grade Montessori teacher at Graham Hill Elementary in South Seattle. I am passionate about working with students to create lifelong learners and innovative leaders, and in order to do so, believe that students must feel valued, inspired and empowered by their teachers and community. I have a strong commitment to ensuring that each student develops life skills to succeed beyond the classroom, and look forward to hearing from your family about the unique goals you have for your child!

What is your teaching philosophy?
Telling the student a little bit about myself to get them to open up. Oftentimes, we find some commonalities! I also like to give students an opportunity to write about or draw themselves and how they are feeling. Emotional intelligence is something I have studied and really find important when it comes to building trust with students.
