Certified Tutor
Patience, clear communication, and creating step by step processes for problem solving are the tools that help me teach students the concepts they need to learn. With a bachelor's degree in finance, my foundation in math helps me pass down information in a variety of understandable approaches. I hope that through my passion of teaching I am able to understand the students thought process and help them be more analytical in their problem solving.

What is your teaching philosophy?
The most important thing in learning math is to understand exactly what the question is asking. I try to help students identify key words, understand the end goal, and build a step by step process with them to get the answer.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
See what terminology and problem solving methods the student is comfortable with and build off their skill set to enrich their understanding of concepts.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Practice, practice, and more practice! When the student becomes more and more comfortable with concepts I will try to become less involved when they solve problems until they can do them fully on their own.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Try to make concepts relative and interactive.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Building cheat sheets to help them get through problems until they memorize the procedures to do the problems independently.
