I have a background in ESL and disability support, and many years' experience with autism and Asperger's. I have an English degree, am a published novelist, and have taken several years of voice lessons. I have a generic American accent (with hints of UK English) in my pronunciation, and I can give accent coaching lessons as well. I've lived and traveled overseas, and I love meeting new people and learning more about their cultures and languages.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy can be summed up in four words: whatever the student needs. My background working with students who have learning disabilities has given me a lot of experience finding ways to reach a student who can't learn in the traditional ways. I can alter my approach to address the student's needs, whatever they are.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
The first session is mostly getting to know the student, figuring out what he or she needs, and analyzing how to address them.
