I believe that school and the classroom should be a safe haven for students to succeed and accomplish their dreams. As an educator, I will dedicate myself to encourage, inspire and motivate my students by being a positive role model in the classroom. I believe that children should be taught in an environment that fosters learning. This environment allows them to succeed through trial and error, feel comfortable with making mistakes in order to learn, and also to be proud of themselves if they succeed the first time out. The decisions I make in my classroom will always be made with the student's best interests in mind. I hope to develop in my students, an understanding of the great diversity they live in. They will be taught with patience, and with an understanding of all their cultural differences and similarities in mind. The decisions made in their education will facilitate their ongoing educational success and inspire in them the desire to never stop learning. These goals will be achieved with a mutual respect, trust and cooperation between student, parent and teacher. I believe that education and the opportunities it can bring should not be limited due to the financial restrictions of a community. I strongly believe that education is the foundation for the rest of our lives. Education should not be compromised because of budget cuts or funding not available to certain districts.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Education is power and freedom. Reading, writing, listening, and speaking are skills needed in this world to be self-sufficient.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Ask questions about the student regarding school and hobbies - connect with the student - connect the reason of why they must master this subject to their goals after and outside of school.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Self-sufficiency is key and my biggest motivational factor in my personal education. Connecting to students goals and their confidence will help build them as independent learners.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
By connecting to their goals, reminding them of their skills, or just taking a deep breath and start over!
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would assist in visual notes, examples, catchphrases, and real life examples to help the student remember skills needed.
