I have 25+ years experience teaching children with special needs in the public school setting. I have experience working with students who have a wide range of disabilities including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD. Having tutored students throughout my career (both general education and special education students), I enjoy working one-to-one with them while helping them achieve success!

During my career, I have built up my toolbox of special strategies and techniques for working with students. I am very experienced in working with struggling or below-grade level students in the area of reading and writing. I am Orton-Gillingham trained (including Wilson Reading System) and skilled in providing systematic and explicit phonic instruction.

I specialize in working with students at the elementary level in the areas of reading (phonics, comprehension, spelling), math, writing, and social skills. My strengths include making connections with students, giving positive and immediate feedback, and providing step-by-step lessons to help meet attainable goals.

I enjoy working with students and making learning fun. Once students start to make progress, their self-confidence improves and they are one-step closer to meeting their goals!
