Alex: Essex County tutor
Certified Tutor
I have considered myself to be an educator for five years. I was a Kindergarten Literacy Aid, a tutor, a student teacher intern, a substitute teacher, and a paraprofessional before starting my job as an Elementary Spanish teacher. I earned a bachelors degree in both Spanish and Elementary Education along with a minor in Global Studies from the University of Vermont. I consider myself to be a problem solver, patient, and empathetic. I try to make learning fun for all students by pulling in students interests and incorporating appropriate educational games.
Beyond education, I also enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, cooking, reading and playing soccer. I believe travel is one of the best ways to learn about yourself as a person because it makes you think about different cultures and judgments and allows you to reflect on your personal believes. I have traveled to many different countries in my lifetime and have lived in both Venezuela (2 years) and Spain (4 months).
