What is your teaching philosophy?

Collaboration. You tell me how I can help you, and I will do everything in my power to give you what you need. We will be partners in your learning, and together we will achieve our goals.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

The first session will center around goal setting. We will determine what your baseline is, and decide where we can be within the given timeframe. Then we will plan out our next session, in which we will lay the foundation of the subject matter.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

My teaching style is and always will be predicated upon collaboration, and as such we are equal partners in your learning. I will have high expectations for you every single step of the way, and I will give you the tools you need to learn during and beyond our sessions together.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Struggle is inevitable. Whenever we meet obstacles, we will push through them together. I will endeavor to show you during every session how you have progressed, and how you can get even better moving forward. We will constantly track progress and I will push you to be a better version of yourself every day.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Go back to the foundations. Sometimes when you're banging your head against a wall, it is smarter to take a step back and see whether there was a misstep or lack of clarification somewhere along the way. We will come back and learn every single concept, but we do not necessarily have to learn every concept within one session. The objective will always be constant improvement.
