What is your teaching philosophy?
The teacher is a guide to teach you how to learn material, not just somebody to help you memorize things.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Staying motivated is about knowing they can improve in whatever they do. I talk about how I have overcome failures of similar kinds to theirs.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Every student is different and the strategy always varies, but overall I connect the ideas from the material to real life examples applicable to them.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
I would give them sample questions to do, in order to see if they understand the material. Not too many questions as to feel overworked or bored.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
Every student is different and should be taught as such, meaning that difficult concepts will need to thoroughly broken down and expressed in terms they will follow.
