Certified Tutor

I have served as a classroom teacher in public, private, and charter schools, and am certified to teach both Preschool and Elementary. My favorite subjects to teach are Reading and Language Arts, because I feel that strengthening these areas can help students in all of their other subjects as well; by increasing their ability to process information and determine what they need to do in order to be successful, a student can then go on to succeed in all realms of academia.

I have tutored both privately and for tutoring centers. Even though my certification is with younger students and I am very strong in early reading skills, I have also been very successful with older students, finding where the gaps in their learning might be and helping to fill them.

I am very patient and encouraging, and students find right away that I care very much about helping them feel successful. I love finding new ways to make every topic we cover come alive for them, building strength and confidence.

I live with a very fun nine-year-old little boy and several furry friends. We love to go on adventures together! I'm looking forward to joining my students on their own learning adventure!
