Certified Tutor

I have a passion for learning and teaching. I knew in Elementary School that I wanted to become a teacher and help students learn, just like many of my teachers did for me. I have tutored students for many years from elementary age to college age. I love tutoring for many reasons, but the main reason I enjoy it is to give one-on-one attention to that student's individual needs. I love challenging students, but I always strive to find creative ways of doing so. While I was in college, I had one class completely dedicated to tutoring and one-on-one teaching, and it was one of my favorite classes during my college career. I had the opportunity to work with students and help them be successful in certain areas that they struggled in. Once I graduated I was a 5th grade teacher for two years and I would offer tutoring sessions after school for students and their parents.

My license to teach is in PreK-6th grade with an extra license in Middle School and High School Math. I have a love of Math, which may sound nerdy to a lot of people, but I must admit I have always loved learning Math. During high school, I was two years ahead in Math and studied subjects up to Calculus. Out of all the Math courses, Algebra I and Geometry were my two favorite subjects. Once I graduated from college with my teaching degree I wanted to carry on my love of Math to the teaching field. I tutored Math during my college years from elementary age to college age students. During my first year of teaching I taught Math and History to 5th graders, and did after school tutoring for students in 5th grade who needed additional help in Math. I understand many people do not have the same love of Math, and I would love to help students who are struggling in this subject or need additional support.
