I am state certified in several different areas and have years of experience with private and virtual academic tutoring. How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Most students who are struggling with reading comprehension have not mastered reading fluency. I help students with their reading fluency first and then move to help them understand what they are reading and how to find the answer.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
When a student understands what is expected of them and why, it helps them become vested and excited to learn.
