Aman
Certified Tutor
I am a chemical engineer who has been in the educational field since 2003. I am teaching Physics since my college and after completing college, I chose it as a professional. I have extensive experience in teaching, tutoring, and counseling.
Since 2003, I have taught more than 1,800 students in groups as well as one on one. My goal for a student is not just making him/her to know the formulas but to understand the concepts in depth so that the student can formulate the it all by themselves. It will be so deeply engrosses in you minds that you will never have to memorize it. I make the students deal practically with the subject through various models and live examples so it becomes fun and easy to understand.
There is Physics and Math all around us. Let me show you and you will start loving it.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Understanding the basics and building a very strong foundation for long-term and in-depth understanding. No one is dumb; it is just a different way of understanding.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I will ask what the student already knew and what was challenging so far, and I will develop my strategy accordingly to best benefit him.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Once the logic of the subject is clear and the student knows about what is happening, this can raise their confidence and interest to make them an independent learner.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Clarity of the subject and getting fluent in it and, thus, learning the future application and prospect of the subject will help the student stay motivated.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I will be patient with the student and will give him/her the time he/she needs to understand it properly by giving a lot of examples and changing the methodology to explain the same in different ways.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
In a passage, we can get the essence of the passage by reading the first and last paragraph of it, and then the student gains interest for a fluent reading. I will guide the student to read many more things in regular routine, which will help him a lot.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Don't rush with any topic. Give students the logic of the subject and let the student solve many examples and questions on their own for practice, and thus he/she will gain confidence.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Clarity of the concept and knowing the application of the logic developed in the subject makes them feel excited. Get rid of the idea that they cannot do it by practicing more questions and building confidence.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
By making him solve a lot of questions and bringing up regular tests on the subject.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Practice is the key to feeling confident, which may be through practice exercises or tests and getting successful in the subject.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
I generally analyze by observing the student's way of solving the questions, oral quizzes, and observing subjective tests, which helps me find the areas where he/ she lacks, thus giving insight into how I can help with his/her needs.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
It's done simply by changing the methodology and starting with more simple questions for a student weak in a subject, and then speeding up gradually, or going with advanced concepts and questions for a confident student.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
I start with basic school textbooks and software for rigorous practice for math, and practice test books for test prep.
