I have a Associates degree in Science, in which I graduated with Cum Laude honors. I am very dedicated in finding a way to help you succeed in whatever subject you need help in. In my eyes, it is my duty to do my best to try to encourage complete understanding of subject material in question, as well as give students the ability to apply that knowledge readily when necessary. While I am serious about getting the material to be integrated well into the student's knowledge base, I also try to keep it light hearted and fun. Nobody likes a teacher that is too stern after all.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Patience, and willingness to find a way to allow the student to learn most. I found that when I was taught, I learned the most from teachers who were kind and simply wanted to convey the information in a way I could interpret best.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Finding out who the student is, as well as figuring out what they need help with. I would like to know in what way I can help. That way I can suit the needs of the student best.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
My goal is to be able to instill a level of learning in which the student will be able to carry it on into the classroom and use the knowledge gained freely. This is done mostly by making sure that the student truly knows how to solve given problems, rather than an approximate knowledge.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would try to keep it as fun as possible. If parents are cool with it, I could even have candy as an incentive for correct answers- I know I used to be very motivated to answer questions with candy on the line.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would do my best to break the concept down step by step, utilizing the student's prior knowledge of surrounding subject matters.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
I would attempt to either help them sound out or spell out words, and assist by reading words out for them.
