Certified Tutor

I am a state certified, full-time elementary school teacher. Currently, I teach 4th and 5th grade math. I previously taught 1st grade, 3rd grade math & science, and all subjects in 5th grade. I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from The Florida State University in 2009. In addition to my role as a classroom teacher, I have worked as an online and after-school tutor. Everyone talks about the "new math" that is being taught in the classrooms today, but I don't look at it as new math. Instead, I see it as the same math, just in a new way of thinking. I love asking students the "why" and "how" questions to explain their thinking when solving math problems.
