I graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's degree in Communication, with a Minor in English. I worked as a peer health educator for UCSB Health & Wellness program. I enjoyed teaching others about positive psychology and healthy lifestyle practices. I enjoy helping others and working towards the betterment of my community. As a tutor, I help bring young students to their full academic potential. I believe in tailoring lesson plans to the individual student. Positive reinforcement and individual attention will help raise the student's self-esteem, allowing him/her to grow scholastically. I aim to build a confidence in my students as well as create joy in learning. As an enthusiastic book lover, I would hope to foster a love of reading as well. I am able to teach elementary math, grammar, phonics/spelling, reading comprehension, and Spanish. I have a special passion for the English language, and can teach up to college level in language-related subjects.
