I think people who claim to hate math just haven't had the right teachers or experience with it. I love tutoring these people most of all because my philosophy is that the student has to learn the language of math.
I love teaching/tutoring statistics because I can demonstrate its relevance to anyone, even an Opera major (or musician.) I also love geometry, Algebra I, and probability for the same reason.
I have had the best experience tutoring junior high school level (before students can decide to "hate" math) and adult level (when students have realized how much they need math.) I am a Veteran, have tutored while in the military, and would welcome the chance to tutor this population again.
