Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of California State University - Los Angeles with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. I have personal, professional, and volunteer experience tutoring others. I help my younger sister, who is currently in sixth grade, with homework almost every day since she has been in school. I have been a private tutor for underclassmen as a senior in high school. In college I helped friends and colleagues with homework and volunteered at an after-school program to tutor elementary school children.
People have often approached me for math-related help ever since middle school, so I have become most comfortable with that subject. However, I am also passionate about philosophy and writing. I was offered a position as the sports editor for the student newspaper at Pasadena City College.
My tutoring strategy is centered around the idea of a conversation. I use my clients' interests to create examples that will help them understand the concept in question. I always try to have my clients figure out the problem themselves through guiding questions.
I am a fan of movies, with some personal favorites being When Harry Met Sally, the Godfather films, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I also love the television shows Breaking Bad, Friends, and How I Met Your Mother. I am an avid fan of basketball, baseball, and football. I also play video games in my free time.
