Certified Tutor

I'm currently a medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in Manhattan. I completed a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University in 2014. At Carnegie Mellon I tutored my peers through our academic development center. I focused on all types of Chemistry classes in both group and individual settings. I also tutored math and reading for grade school children at the inner-city Pittsburgh school districts. I tutor science classes and ACT, SAT, and MCAT test prep. My favorite classes to tutor are anatomy/physiology and biochemistry! As a medical student I am seeing how these subjects are applied in the human body, which makes it really fun to tutor them! My tutoring style focuses on the student taking ownership of the material. To me this means that the student is learning the material in a way that is the most optimal for them, and in a way that ensures that they can apply their knowledge meaningfully. Outside of the classroom I love to go on long runs in central park, read, cook fun new vegetarian recipes, and see live shows!
