I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Louis University (SLU) and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics and French. I also studied abroad in Poitiers, France for a semester and completed the DALF C2 French Language Diploma– the highest certification in French as a second language. After I returned, I tutored French until I graduated and helped students strengthen their oral, writing, and grammar skills. Since language opens opportunities to learn both linguistics and culture, I’m a big fan of incorporating foreign movies, music, and food in my lessons when appropriate. My passion for languages extends to helping others improve their English and writing. I’ve learned from the best; my father is the director of an English program at a university overseas. My experience with languages and cultures also comes from having grown up overseas in the Middle East in a bi-cultural household and having traveled extensively throughout my life. In addition to languages, I also have a strong Math and Business background due to my undergraduate studies.

Since graduation, I am currently serving as 1 of the 64 nationally selected fellows participating in the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs, which is a nine-month graduate-level experiential program centered around leadership development. I am a strong believer in the empowerment of education and self-development to build future leaders and hope to share that with all my students.

Finally, my interests include traveling, hiking, cooking, reading (huge British Lit fan) and watching international and independent films. Did I mention I love Forest Park and random cafes? - Great places to tutor and study!
