Certified Tutor

I am currently enrolled at Hofstra University with a major in chemistry and a minor in mathematics. I am a senior and currently in my last semester and working towards my Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry, and throughout my Hofstra career I have tutored college students in chemistry and mathematics. I have found it very rewarding to tutor kids because I enjoy the subjects that I tutor and the cool parts of the subjects that may be applicable to real life. I find that is very hard to try to drill material into a students head without understanding why they are learning it. I tutor Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Mathematics from Algebra 1 to College Algebra. My favorite subject to tutor would have to be chemistry because of how fascinating it can be once it is understood carefully. I would say my tutoring philosophy is to have patience. Understanding a subject takes time, and I understand that completely. I want students to find a way to enjoy the work they do. The most important thing I want to instill into the students I tutor is to have discipline and patience. Learning is a process and cannot be forced upon anyone. In my free time I enjoy playing sports and exercising. I also enjoy watching professional sports and playing professional sport video games.
