Certified Tutor

I graduated from University of Maryland, College Park, in May 2010 with a B.A. in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture. Since then, I've worked as a literacy and writing tutor with elementary and middle school students, and as a high school substitute teacher. I'm available now to tutor beginning and intermediate students in Spanish, levels I-III.

Many people have trouble grasping the underlying concepts of a new language; I find it exciting to put these concepts in a way that students understand, and that doesn't seem so foreign. As a tutor, I meet my students where they are, locate their specific difficulties, and try to keep things fun and engaging. Verb tables and vocab lists are important, but so are movie clips, song lyrics, newspaper articles, and other real-world materials.

When I'm not teaching or tutoring you can find me strolling, sauntering, meandering and occasionally moseying through the neighborhoods and side streets of my home-city, Baltimore, MD.
