I am a recent graduate from Rutgers University. I graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. During my time at Rutgers, I held many different leadership and work positions. The most important positions being Chem-E Car Captain and working as a Peer Mentor and Recitation Mentor. Being Chem-E Car Captain allowed me to sharpen my leadership skills and work collaboratively with other Chemical Engineering students. During my time as a Chem-E Car member and Captain, I also held four summer workshops for Chinese exchange students, teaching the students what Chem-E Car is, the different types of concepts and ideas that are used when building a car, and ultimately coordinating a competition among them. Working as a Peer Mentor allowed me to immerse myself into what it takes to teach college level students. My responsibilities included assisting the Teacher's Assistant with grading quizzes and homework and during the recitation. I was also responsible for assisting the students on their workshop problems that they were assigned. Lastly, as a Recitation Mentor, I was a Teacher's Assistant for a Pre-Calculus recitation section. I prepared and led my own lessons, graded homework, quizzes, and exams. I also held office hours and tutoring and review sessions for my students that needed the extra help. I have extensive experience in working with college-aged students and elementary school students. I have not officially tutored high school students, but I have passively helped my friends or peers when they had trouble. Tutoring and teaching to me is very rewarding and I am always trying my best to deliver 110%. I will not give up until the student completely understands all the concepts and is able to solve problems associated with the concepts without guidance. In my spare time, I enjoy doing the crossword, writing poetry, cooking, running, and going to concerts. Brand New is my favorite band.
