I am a graduate of the University of Texas San Antonio and the University of Phoenix-Kapolei. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at U.T.S.A and a Masters of Arts Degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix-Kapolei. Over the past ten years I have had the opportunity to work in various educational settings which include charter schools, a year round, multi-track campus, public schools, and a campus on a military installation. Analyzing literature, writing, and working to remediate students who need preparation for standardized tests is what I enjoy most. I am a proponent educator who believes education is meant to help learners acquire knowledge, explore, discover, and have different experiences. Furthermore, it empowers learners to use critical thinking skills to solve problems in our communities and gives us an appreciation for the world around us. I believe helping students learn these critical skills will help students in any future degree program, training course, employment, and as life long learners. In my spare time I enjoy bowling, attending plays, poetry slams, and reading.
