I volunteer for a Houston program called PAIR in which I help tutor children who are refugees and need help learning English. I also used to tutor elementary students in math. I also work as a baby sitter for Seeking Sitters, a sitting service. I have a lot of experience working with children, which requires patience. I am a patient tutor, and I try to break large topics down into digestible pieces so that a child or someone who doesn't speak English well could understand.
I break down concepts well and use a variety of visual aids to help students make connections to what they are learning. It is important to be friendly and relatable to students. I continually check for comprehension and truly enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts.
