My name is Mary Wang and I would love an opportunity to tutor you! I am passionate about science having worked in scientific research labs, gone to college for a science degree and tutored for science subjects. My favorite topics are biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.

As a college graduate and former overzealous high school student, I have personally gone through many of the tough classes and tests that you are facing right now. I have taken the the PSAT, the SAT, a number of AP tests as well as the MCAT. From my experience, half of acing these subjects is understanding the material and the other half is understanding the test. These tests can seem overwhelming at first but I can offer advice on efficient ways to tackle problems so that you too can come out with your grade, and sanity, intact.

I have personal experience in taking numerous AP classes including but not limited to AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Calculus, AP US History, AP US Government, and AP English. I also have extensive experience taking science and math classes at the University of Washington. Lastly, I also have experience with the MCAT (medical school test) and scientific research so if you are an aspiring doctor or scientist I am here for you!

I have some previous experience teaching AP chemistry and AP biology as well as working with immigrants learning English. My teaching style is efficient but relaxed. Instead of giving lectures, I like to see students work out problems on their own as much as possible before I jump in to offer advice. After all, my job is to help students with their specific problems not to teach the entire subject to a classroom of people. I also fond of simple "tricks" to attacking difficult problems. As a frequent timed test-taker, I am adamant good time-management and that is reflected in my teaching style.

As for my non-academic interests, they run the gamut from hiking to watching British comedies to excess. I love traveling and have set foot in over ten countries. I also love cooking and eating. Nothing brings joy into my life like a bowl of perfect hand-made noodles. Like 90% of people in the world, music is also big in my life. I love attending music concerts, which my slightly compromised hearing can attest to. Also, not to brag but I'm aslo pretty ace at air-guitar. I love hiking because I like to scream my lungs out on mountain tops. Some less-impressive hobbies I enjoy are people-watching, splashing in puddles, watching sci-fi anythings, hugging warm laundry, ignoring humans if puppies are present, eating chocolate and napping.
