Tutoring review by Amber in Paradise, NV
She is working on one of my favorite sections of geometry to teach which is classifying quadrilaterals. My favorite review game is to play quadrilateral guess who. She said she appreciates that. We only played one round because she felt she needed to work on memorizing the properties a little bit more before she was really ready to play the game. She was going to get someone in her class to play with her. I did go over her classifying quadrilaterals chart and double checked it to make sure she had all of the properties listed correctly. We worked through a few problems from her work book that she had not understood. I also gave her a more algebraic example of how she could apply the properties of quadrilaterals to solve problems.

The student and I reviewed his Chapter 9 review packet in preparation of his test. We covered ionic and covalent bonding, stoichiometry, electronegativity, and dipole interactions. He did very well on each subject but was struggling with nonpolar and polar distinctions. We will review these topics in the future.

Tutoring review by Jason in Paradise, NV
We covered simplifying complex fractions, algebraic word problems (area, perimeter, Pythagorean theorem), working with negative and zero exponents, solving polynomial equations, solving/ graphing polynomial inequalities. We also reviewed errors from the student's last exam. He knows the material very well and I believe he will perform well on Friday's exam--he is a motivated and intelligent student.

Tutoring review by David in Paradise, NV
The student and I had a good first session. He has gone through most of his homework workbook, so we started at the beginning so he could solidify everything as we go. We discussed the sets of numbers inside the real numbers, and he got a lot out of the discussion of the relative differences between the rationals, integers, whole and natural numbers. We reviewed using the number line as well as order or operations. He responded well. He has some good math habits, so that helps us both a great deal. He likes to write every step. I encouraged him to keep going through the problems until he runs into a wall. That's where we'll start our next session.

Tutoring review by JaVaan in Paradise, NV
We went over calculating distance and multiplying fractions. The student is always willing to participate in the learning process. I continue to reiterate the importance of taking notes and using notes as a reference. She was to redo a test problem that she got wrong.

Tutoring review by Kedrin in Paradise, NV
Today, the student worked on math, social studies and reading. Math consisted of polygons and their descriptions; noticing the differences between them and how to identify them. Social studies consisted of a crossword puzzle that assists in learning the definitions of terms relating to the Cold War. We also made flash cards for his quiz in social studies, which will take place on Wednesday. We read for 15 minutes to start working on his ability to master reading comprehension. He had a great attitude toward the material. He received some good grades on assignments that he completed last week.
