Helped student today with her biology. She was feeling a little unsure about the processes of photosynthesis and so I reviewed it with her and answered all the questions she had. So hopefully, she feels caught up with the class now. I also went over her rubric for the research paper she has to write on viruses to make sure she understood everything she was supposed to do.

The student is reviewing for a quiz involving trig functions. We practiced solving for sides and angles of right triangles using sine, cosine and tangent. She excelled in this area as well as converting radians to degrees and the opposite. We went over reference angles and how to find them as well as how to find co-terminal angles.

The student and I continued to work on his major project for English. We've been doing the process together. I've been showing him that he is totally capable of doing this. We finished two poems together today.

I tutored the student to prepare him for an exam he has to take for college. He felt more comfortable with the material for the exam at the end of the session and his understanding of it was much better.

Today we finished the third chapter. We worked on simplifying rational expressions, solving rational equations, and completing work rate problems. The student is continuing to grow in his math ability and is showing improvement in all areas of math.

The student and I began the lesson by discussing what's happening in school and if there was anything she felt we needed to review. The student said that she could complete her homework by herself and wanted to practice more division and multiplication. The student said that she had a few problems with her homework. We looked back over the homework and rewrote them on notebook paper. The student was much more successful when she had more room to write. One thing the student must remember is to keep her numbers in the correct place value. We continued practicing long division and reviewing the proper steps. We only worked through division through the hundreds place value. We moved on to multiplication to the thousands place.
