She covered a budgeting case study for the student's class that is due next week. Her instructor provided a spreadsheet template and an assignment guide that she used to create a one-year operating budget for a fictional subsidized employee training program. She was motivated to understand the material, but is new to accounting, so was hesitant to attempt parts of the assignment. We will continue to work on the assignment and other statistics homeworks in future sessions.

We completed the study guide for the student's quiz next week. Topics for the quiz include: simplifying rational expressions, polygons and angles, number lines, and unit conversion. The student still needs assistance to complete most of the problems, but he is getting better understanding the material. We will continue to study these concepts next week, so the student will be adequately prepared for the quiz.

We covered log derivations, implicit derivations, and related rates problems, which were concepts that the student needed practice with.
He was very cooperative and picked up the concepts very quickly.
I mentioned that he should practice more problems and check his answers with an online learning tool to check his answers.

Today, we covered equilibrium forces, gravitational forces, and centripetal forces. In particular, the student wanted some examples of conceptual questions on these forces. I used an old textbook to find some applicable questions, which she and I went over. As we worked through the equilibrium problems, she demonstrated that she knows how to solve those problems very well. In the gravitational problems, she showed complete understanding of how to solve those questions too. In general, I anticipate that she will do very well on her exam. She has said that she will contact me to set up the next session.

We continued to review for the student's exam on Monday. We focused more on the topics that he is least comfortable with. We paid specific attention to applied problems. I believe he should do well on the exam.

We covered both reading vocabulary and pronunciation by having the student read aloud a selection and asking questions about new words, etc. We followed this with conversation, practicing answering common questions.
