Tutoring review by Michael in Kennesaw, GA
The student and I worked on the multiplication and division of rational expressions. Last week we had worked on addition and subtraction of these expressions, and she was nervous to do multiplication and division since she found the addition and subtraction difficult. However, she ended up doing extremely well on this problem set, so much so that by the end she was able to complete the problems with very little to no help from me. After the session was finished, I told her that I believed that was her best session yet, and that she should be proud and continue to build on this for the future. Hopefully she takes that message to heart, because I sincerely believed that was our best session we have had together.

Tutoring review by John in Kennesaw, GA
Because of our previous session and her recent homework, the student felt confident ahead of her quiz on various ways to chart data, including box-and-whiskers diagrams. She worked instead on her review packet: functions, binomials, problems with 2 variables. We will be working on improving her recognition of the operations/solutions needed for each questions. She seems to know how to proceed once she is directed, but has to work without this kind of help to succeed.

We covered antiderivatives and integrals. Areas for growth include formal vocabulary and following positive/ negative sign conventions when performing integration. The student showed a calm, open attitude towards learning the material. This is a plus!

Tutoring review by Lindsey in Kennesaw, GA
Today we worked on the chapter test review the student brought with him. He did all the questions but a few. He showed me the types of problems that he wasn't 100% comfortable with so I made my own for him to work on and practice. He tends to have the most difficulty with the wordier problems so those were the ones that we worked on. By the end of the session he was much more comfortable with them.

Tutoring review by Lindsay in Kennesaw, GA
In this session, the student and I started by working on section 2-7 of the math work, which covered graphing/solving inequalities with quadratic equations. We also looked briefly at 2-6, which was simply using the quadratic equation. We worked through a number of practice problems for 2-7 and reviewed how to graph the quadratic equations. We then worked on solving the inequalities using algebra and a number line. The student quickly picked up on the steps to successfully solve the inequalities with the number line. We then switched gears over to chemistry and worked on finding the formula mass of a compound. She did a very good job of finding the formula masses using the formula mass equation.

Tutoring review by Brook in Kennesaw, GA
The student has an examination tomorrow, so we reviewed the physical structures of the cell. In addition, we reviewed the functions of the organelles and processes of transport from within the cell to the outside. He also took a practice text and only missed one question out of 30. In addition, we reviewed a video he had seen on DNA. His quiz on this topic was perfect.
