We worked on simplifying radical expressions. We dealt with problems involving all 4 operations. The division problems included rationalizing the denominator. The session was productive.

Yesterday we prepared for the student's math test. He had struggled on a practice exam, so we went over the steps for solving an equation, distribution, and cross multiplying. By the end of the session, he was feeling more confident in these skills.

I coached the student through her homework, clarifying some concepts for basic elements of plane geometry - rays, lines, and line segments. Also addressed were the following tips: Naming one-dimensional figures by at least two points and taking direction into account with rays; Angles need to be identified by three points, the middle of which is always the vertex; Planes can also be identified based on three points (any two points will always be collinear, three points will always be coplanar).

Today the student and I got ahead on 2 new sections. We introduced new circle concepts involving more arcs and inscribed angles. He did well with the material and likes to jump ahead. He feels confident in his test work from last week.
