Today, we reviewed student's previous exams. Specifically going over problems which he got wrong, but also pointing out ones that he got right to keep him positively motivated in his mathematics courses. Most of the problems we went over were on log properties, and then a few on limits and graphs. At the end of the session, I did a quick overview of physics from equations of motion to centripetal forces.

We started the review for her final. This consisted of defining terms, explaining the difference between similar terms, and drawing position vs time and velocity vs time graphs.

Today we studied Pearson's correlation coefficient, r, and methods of calculating it like the least squares method.

Today the student went over 9 math problems from the state assessment test. We reviewed test taking strategies and slowing down when reading the questions so he doesn't miss key words. His homework is to practice/ memorize his times tables through 12.

We reviewed multiplication and division of fractions. We also integrated 6 and 7 times tables into the fast facts the student has already been practicing.

Covered: Solving systems of equations using matrices. Reviewed for exam on matrices--performing operations on them, finding determinants, using them to solve systems of equations. (Began to explore zeros of second degree polynomial functions outside of classroom pursuit.)
Student 2:
Covered: Reviewed homework problem and continued to explore its theme of a proportionality constant. Reviewed rate of change.
