The student and I covered her math, English, and science homework. We focused primary on prefixes and what their meanings were. I told her to use an example of a word she knew with the prefix, to help remember the meaning. She seems to understand math and science very well.

Today, the student and I looked at absolute value problems. We determined when absolute value problems have solutions, and we practiced solving some absolute value problems. She grasped this concept very well. For extra practice this week, she is responsible for completing sections 8 and 9 (all even problems). As always, her attitude was very pleasant.

The student and I worked on division and fractions today. He has a pretty good grasp of integers; we will keep practicing them in future sessions.

This was a good session. We dealt with defining complex numbers. We discussed root-1 as well as i squared, cubed, quartic and higher order exponents. We then dealt with adding and multiplying complex binomials and fractional exponents.

We spent a lot of time reviewing the student's schedule and how he can best utilize our time. We put together a plan for next week, and I will be reviewing what he gives me access to on One Note before we reconvene.

The student went through her chemistry homework first. It was about drawing Lewis structures for different compounds. I explained to her how she has to draw them. She needs to practice more on them. Then she went through her algebra homework. It was about quadratic functions and vertex format. I explained to her how she can use the graph to write the equation and find different information on them. She needs to practice more, so I assigned her extra problems for homework.
