The student and I went over his math materials so far as well as in his other subjects. We discussed attitudes and expectations towards his subjects and teachers. It seems that he is doing review in math, and will start to learn algebra.

The student and I reviewed some stoichiometry and then ventured into solving specific heat problems both involving and not involving phase changes. We also solved one bomb calorimetry and one coffee cup calorimetry problems. She appeared to be picking up the concepts very well, and understands the material a lot better. I encouraged her to review the practice quiz we went over during our session.

Worked on drawing Pythagorean triangles based on trigonometric identities (i.e. sin(x) = 4/5) in order to solve trig problems. Also studied the sheet of trigonometric identities, including the half-angle formulas, double angle formulas, Pythagorean identities, etc.
