I have a Doctorate in Physical Chemistry from West Virginia University.I enjoy working one-on-one with students. I am currently a student at Cornell University. I've returned to my hometown of Holly Springs for the summer and am looking forward to working with students who went through the same experiences I did. My tutoring experiences began with my little sister and gradually expanded as I continued through high school. Now that I'm in college, I think I can offer great insight into how to achieve great test scores and everything else that may be useful for getting into college. My tutoring strategies focus heavily on working closely with my students and developing a close rapport with them. I can't wait to get to know every one of them!

Hi there! My name is Briana Martin, a North Carolina native. I received my Bachelor's Degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in Journalism and Rhetoric. After moving to Houston, Texas as a part of Teach For America, I taught English and Composition for 3 years. This instruction consisted of writing/proofreading essays, rhetorical analysis, argumentation/persuasive writing, and creative writing. Furthermore, that included teaching grammar and other writing mechanics. After teaching for 3 years, I sought after the Masters of Social Policy Evaluation program at Rice University. Eager to begin a career in statistical analysis and evaluation, I graduated as a part of the first cohort of the Rice University Program. Now, I have skills in coding, data visualization, and statistical analysis. Therefore, I am excited and qualified to help you achieve your goals in a variety of subjects!

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. I'm fairly new to formal tutoring but I've been helping my five children with their homework for the last 18 years. I consider math and science my favorite subjects, with physics being one of my most favorite. When I'm coaching a student, I believe in a very tailored approach which encourages and strengthens the knowledge and skills that a student has and then adds the information that is needed to succeed. Rote memorization is not my strong suit, I believe in really understanding the underlying organizing principles. In my other job I design houses, and when I'm not doing that I love to read, and hike and do some woodworking now and then.

I am a full-time student in my third year at The College of New Jersey, pursuing a BA in Political Science and planning to pursue a law degree afterwards. I have experience tutoring high school students, which I was able to do through the National Honor Society. Because I am still a student myself, I believe I can relate best to middle school, high school and college-age students. I have always been fascinated by history, and have passed the AP European History and AP US History Exams while I was in high school. In addition to history and government studies, I am also proficient in English (AP and college-level language and literature studies) and writing (both essay and creative). Outside of this, I work as an RA at my college and enjoy watching movies with my brothers, camping, cooking, and spending time with friends in the great outdoors.

My 30-year teaching experience in Virginia public schools included teaching middle school math and science, and high school Chemistry, Consumer Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Algebra I, Algebra II, and General Math. After retiring from teaching middle and high school, I taught at two universities in Virginia and Arkansas helping college students learn how to teach K-12 science and math, and directing a STEM Education Center that provided math and science teaching and learning support for K-12 teachers and students in Northeast and Northcentral Arkansas. During my retirement I have enjoyed tutoring K-5 students with their math and reading, and supporting high school students with their chemistry.Currently, I am available to tutor my favorite subjects-elementary and middle school math and science, and high school chemistry. My educational background that helped to prepare me as a teacher and a tutor includes a Ph.D. (Virginia Tech) and Master's and Bachelor's degrees (Radford University) focusing on teaching and learning, mathematics, and chemistry. When students are learning math and science, they are opening doors for success in their futures, regardless of the paths their lives take. Knowing that I can play a small role in supporting students achieve success in the present AND the future inspires me to continue working with students as a tutor.

My name is Dr. LaTayna Jackson and I am an educator. I have worked with students from the age of three years of age to fourteen. I previously taught 6th and 7th-grade pre-algebra as a lead teacher and taught regular and Sped students in my class. During my time as an educator, I've seen that all students learn differently and an educator has to know how to differentiate the lesson to accommodate each student's learning style. I have tutored for five years professionally and over 15 years worked at home with my grandchildren. I take great pride in helping students to see their potential from "I can't do it" to saying "I can't do it yet." But in time. I belive in loving and patient tutoring to build student confidence.
