Today we went over homework on reading graphs and charts, then looked over reading and science homework. Lastly did some practice graph problems. We talked about why one would use different types of graphs and practiced inferences from different aspects of each graph.

Math minute. Reviewed mixed number and improper fraction, subtracting mixed numbers by "borrowing" a whole. Essay is good, cohesive, body missed items mentioned in introduction, needs to write conclusion. Gave new topic and instructions. Reading comprehension was very good.

Pre-Algebra: spent 1.5 hours working through equations with decimals Spent about 45 minutes talking with the parent afterward about the student's progress, and a plan to better optimize his time spent on his math & science.

We practiced problems related to line intersections and angles. We also practiced finding the area of irregular geometric shapes using the area formulas for triangles, circles, and rectangles. Through these problems, we also worked on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with decimals.

Covered electrolytic cells and galvanic cells. Covered redox reactions. Student already had a firm grasp of the material. Went over practice problems and old tests to review the material. Aided the student in gaining a better understanding of material and how to tackle questions in the most efficient manner possible.

We talked about conditional statements and went over some of the homework assignment from that chapter. He got many right on his own without help. On Sunday I will check if he has retained these concepts, as they are vital to understanding Geometry.
