I am a rising Senior at Williams College where I major in History and Political Science with a certificate in Arabic. Having learned Spanish, Arabic and Korean from scratch, I am a major proponent of learning new languages and enjoy helping others on their language journeys. I am also an avid chess player, and love to introduce others to the game.

I'm a PhD candidate studying Clinical Psychology. Before that I completed a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York University and a B.A. in Sociology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I have graded hundreds of term papers over the years,and have led workshops focusing on academic writing. I am a graduate of Faculty of Pharmacy. I received my Bachelor of Pharmaceutical sciences. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, tutoring students for more than 13 years. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Science, Math and Arabic. I have reached both elementary and older students. In my experience helping struggling students for tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements). I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.

I am passionate about giving back these lessons the same way I was able to receive them! I have taught students of many different ages from as little as 6 years old to as old as 16/17. I love teaching all ages in subjects such as reading and math, especially when it comes to the SATs. My philosophy is to never assume. I approach every student as a blank slate where I do not know about their prior knowledge, and as such, I make it a point to explain everything I teach thoroughly to ensure they have a strong foundation. I am passionate about education and helping each of my students to reach their full potential. I also have prior experience teaching students of a variety of ages both in the classroom and on a one-on-one basis. I completed my undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern Studies at Columbia University in May 2015. During the course of my studies, I taught English as a second language to Palestinian refugees in southern Lebanon, where I led an intermediate English class and a creative writing course. In both classes, I had students from a wide range of ages, from the early primary through the late secondary stages of their education. After graduating in 2015, I taught a course on Anglo-American poetry to students from grades 6-12 at the Vasant Valley School in New Delhi, India. At Vasant Valley, I taught over a hundred students about the fundamental components of English-language poetry and introduced them to select poems from several British and American poetic movements. I also helped students strengthen their writing skills through imitation writing exercises. Additionally, I tutored several students outside of class both at Vasant Valley and in southern Lebanon. Through these experiences, I learned to share my passion for learning and intellectual growth with all of the students I worked with.

I am a junior at Rice University working towards a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Since I moved to Houston, I have been tutoring family members to help them develop their math skills, and make sure they gain a better understanding of the subject. My experience with them made me realize that I greatly enjoy tutoring as it allows me to help others succeed in their studies. I have also worked as a lab assistant and a grader for the Fundamentals of Computer Engineering course at Rice University, and will be doing it again in the upcoming semester. I enjoy tutoring a variety of subjects such as math, physics, and chemistry. However, I am most interested in math and topics related to computer science, and hardware design as I find them most challenging. As a tutor my goal is not to simply help out my students with a given subject, but to make them think critically and understand how to learn on their own, so that they overcome every obstacle that they encounter, now and in the future. In my spare time, I enjoy reading non fiction books, and scientific journals, running, and a good basketball game.
