Members-Only Event: Behind the Scenes of Magic For Humans
Grades 3-8
“How in the world did he do that?” is what viewers of Justin Willman’s Magic For Humans show ask throughout every episode, but the TV never answers–until now! In this exclusive event, Learning Members can join Justin to break down the three tricks that people ask him about most. They’ll talk to Justin about how the trick works, see behind-the-scenes footage of how it was prepared and filmed, and discuss how Justin dreams up his next trick–and then they’ll help him design a brand new trick for his next Varsity Tutors class. Get ready to see how TV magic is made, and then help make magic happen.
Meet your expert instructor, Justin
Justin Willman wants to melt your brain while making you laugh. He’s best known as the star and creator of the hit Netflix series Magic For Humans. But you may recognize him from one of his many television appearances (The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Ellen, Conan…). Or maybe you know his work as a host (Cupcake Wars; Halloween Wars; Win, Lose or Draw…). Or maybe he’s the child magician you hired in suburban St. Louis in the ‘90s. If you don’t know Justin, he’s a magician and comedian who’s mastered the art of turning cynics into believers (or at least getting them to laugh). His live show is simultaneously mind-blowing and hilarious, and will likely keep you up at night wondering how the heck any of it was possible...unless you take his class, in which case you’ll know how at least some of it happened. Justin is also a proud father, a loving husband, and has zero experience as a licensed boat mechanic (that’s a different Justin Willman).
