I am a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, with a BS in Biology and minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry. I am currently working on computer coding and enjoy tutoring students, specializing in test preparation for the ACT, SAT, and GRE.I have nine years of tutoring experience, tutoring students from elementary age to graduate level, as well as working with students with special needs. Then I returned stateside and earned my Masters Degree in Secondary English Education from Brooklyn College and have been a certified NYS teacher since. I see life as a never-ending opportunity to learn new things and conquer new challenges, and you have to be able to laugh at yourself along the way. I just graduated from University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg in December 2016 with a major in applied Mathematics. I'm from Pittsburgh and have been living here since I was 14.Tutoring has been there for me since I was a freshman in college, during my tenure as an Accounting major. I volunteered to be a tutor for my accounting class and that was when my journey started. I landed my first job as a Math tutor for my school at Learning Resource Center for Pitt-Greensburg. Then, I expanded my experience by dealing with High school kids from all ages while I was a tutor for Neighborhood Learning Alliance. Then, the fall of 2015, I became a tutor for Wyzant and I worked there until I joined Varsity Tutors.

I have ph.d. in physics and finishing up ph.d. in math so I am good in both subjects.Back when I was learning those subjects, I was puzzled for a long time about various things that the books didn't seem to explain and I was really excited when I finally answered my own questions. It has been a daydream of mine to write my own textbook where all the material is presented differently and all those questions are answered from the outset. While in practice I don't have time to actually write my own book, I do have various ideas on how to teach the material differently and I am excited to see this help students.

I specialize in grammar and writing technique; study skills and organization; public speaking; reading comprehension; world, US, medieval, and art histories; ACT Reading, Writing, and English; AP English Language; and college admissions essays and preparation.I love conducting sessions as "learning labs" where open and honest discourse is the foundation from which critical knowledge is gleaned.
