About Me

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Abilene Christian University. I completed my Master of Arts degree from Texas Tech University. Additional studies from University of Texas at Austin, University of Illinois and University of Connecticut have enhanced my educational experience. I taught theatre, communication studies and English for 40 years. During that time I directed over 100 fully staged productions and worked with over 6,000 students in class and on stage. I have tutored and mentored many students with one on one speech and theatre assignments, auditions and productions. I continue to advise and tutor students live and online. I also adjudicate high school and college productions in numerous venues through oral and written communication encouraging their performances. My favorite subject and class/students are the ones I am currently invested in at the time. I adore working in the present with students at the beginning level up to an advanced level of performance skills. Students continue to inspire me to a higher level of learning. I enjoy directing theatre productions and working with actors. I enjoy working with public speakers in all subject areas. I admire artistic design in art, photography, theatre and fashion. My philosophy of learning and living are capsulized in the following statement: "Imbibe in life magnificently and never allow fear and perfectionism to envelope you from taking constructive risks."
