I am a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. I received a Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education with a focus in Community and Mental Health Counseling. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University in Middle Grades Education. I am a certified teacher in Language Arts, as well as Reading. I taught 6th and 7th graders English Language Arts over the course of three years.
My specialty is writing; I am currently composing three books. I pride myself in finding relatable and engaging techniques to meet the needs of any age group. As a teacher, I collaborated with my resistant and challenged writers to make writing enjoyable and not unbearable. I am always overjoyed when my students that would only write a few sentences in the beginning of the school year can produce five-paragraph essays towards the middle of the school term. In between summers, I have tutored students on ACT and SAT preparation with emphasis on the Reading and Writing components. Nervous and anxious test takers leave my tutoring sessions feeling like victors! I am excited to working with your child in preparing them for either academic or test prep victories.
