As a highly experienced educator with over 21 years in K12 education, I bring a diverse background that includes teaching grades K4 across all subjects, serving as an ELA Curriculum Support Specialist, working as a Math Coach, and teaching English II at the high school level. I am a very driven person who has enjoyed helping others since I was a little girl. I received my Bachelors degree in Education from Delta State University in 2019 and have taught both in the classroom as well as online since then. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology. I am currently working on a Masters in Teaching. I have tutored off and on for the past 10 years, and I am in my 3 year of teaching Biology, and I have taught Chemistry and Anatomy.My favorite subject to tutor is Biology because it encompasses a lot of the scientific content I love. My tutoring style is flexibility and adapting to the learning style of the student. All students can learn but we all have different methods that work best for us.

Have you ever sat through English class and your teacher went on and on about how to understand what you are reading and you don't even know what the teacher just said? I understand! I was that student long ago. I take pride in turning complex text and concepts into understandable strategies that lead to success as a student.I have been teaching English Language Arts in middle- and high school for over 10 years as well as tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups. My afterschool tutoring classes were full of games and laughter as we had the opportunity to find joy in learning in small group settings.I have a BA in cultural studies with a concentration in literature and writing from the State University of New York Empire State College. I also have an MS degree in Leadership and an additional 36 hours of graduate coursework in elementary and middle-grades education and writing.

I graduated from the University of Mississippi, where I received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6), while also receiving secondary education degrees (7-12) in English, history, and math. I later received my certification in SREB Math Ready as well. In 2021, I decided to go back to school, where I attended Delta State University. During my tenure, I received a master's degree in Education Administration and Supervision. I am currently getting ready to start my eleventh year as an educator in Northeast Mississippi. Over the last ten years, I have taught the following subjects: Foundations of Algebra, Algebra 1, 2, & 3, Geometry, College Algebra (facilitator), and Yearbook. I can tutor all elementary subjects from K-6 grades, along with math, English, and history for 7-12 grades. I'm most passionate about tutoring math. I believe that it is my job to reach and grow each and every student that I have the pleasure of educating. With that in mind, I also understand that everyone thinks differently, especially with mathematics. I work to find ways to make learning easier and less stressful.

I have experience as an educator for over 30 years. I have worked as a teacher's assistant, elementary teacher, and school counselor. I have tutored students one-on-one as well as small groups in math. Math is my favorite subject, and I enjoy making math students' favorite subject. In 2022, I completed my Ph.D. in Chemistry at Vanderbilt University. My goal is to use my expertise in chemistry, algebra, and calculus to help students not only learn but also enjoy these subjects. My favorite subject to teach is general chemistry as it highlights the importance of interdisciplinary study combining, physics, math, and even biology. While my degree expertise lies in chemistry, I am equally adapt in teaching all levels of mathematics. I take pride in reinforcing mathematics concepts with tangible applications in other fields to highlight its importance and making learning interesting.

I am a graduate of Hinds Community College and a future graduate of Delta State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading and Writing. I have been in the education field for over 12 years teaching and tutoring students from Pre-K to 8th grade. While I am able to tutor in multiple subjects, my areas of expertise include reading and reading comprehension, test prep for Subject Area testing from grades 3-8 and I have a high success rate in tutoring students in passing the 3rd Grade Literacy Reading Gate assessment.
