I'm creative, open-minded, and detail-oriented. I like finding ways to make curriculum interesting and engaging. I have experience as a subject tutor, peer writing tutor, and classroom leader. I grew up with a learning disorder/disability, so I am empathetic to students who struggle to fit the academic mold.

I am a passionate and effective teacher who believes that students learn best by doing. I have a love of language and particularly enjoy teaching English. I have taught adults and children in the United States, in Peru (where I was born and spent part of my childhood), and most recently in Kenya. I am a graduate of Salem State College and received my M.ED in Teaching English as a Second Language. My undergraduate degree was in Early Childhood Education and English. Since graduation, I have taught both high school and Early Childhood students. My passion lies in teaching reading, comprehension, vocabulary and writing. I'm passionate about helping students because I love to see how my students grow while I tutor them. I have a BA in English with a minor in History with several years of experience of peer-to-peer and student-teacher/tutor in English, History, and ESL tutoring. I specialize in helping students edit and revise essays/papers, proofreading college applications and resumes/cover letters, English and History test prep, and other items related to these areas.

I'm also interested in how humans interact with the non-human environment, especially in caring for ecosystems, protecting ecosystem services, transitioning to a carbon neutral economy, and ethics surrounding these issues.
