I am originally from San Antonio, TX; I completed my undergraduate education at Rice University in Houston where I received a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Currently, I am in my second year of medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.

I am working toward an MD at Stanford University. I am happy to help with MCAT, SAT, SAT subject, AP test prep, and general academic subjects. Throughout my 8 years of experiencing tutoring middle school and high school students, I aim to help students raise their test scores through targeting points of weakness and developing the tools to conquer those areas. I'm a writer and editor with a passion for learning that I love to share -- I've been told my tag line should be "let's find out!" I'm a native Austinite, but I lived in New York while I got my Bachelor's in Comparative Literature and minored in Linguistics. After I graduated I moved back home to Austin and got my Masters in Global Policy Studies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT. Now I'm in Fort Worth, with an MBA I picked up along the way (also from UT Austin) -- apparently I can't stay out of school for long.

I am continuing my education with a Master's in the same field. For years, I've helped my friends and siblings with homework for school, and they've always told me that I had a talent for teaching; I understand concepts very easily, and explanations come easy as well. The goal that I work towards for my students is to bless them holistically, both through my academic skills and through any relationship that I am able to build with them. I believe in teaching my key patterns of thinking; teach them how to fish instead of giving them a fish, as it is said. I am best at Math and Science, and any of the high-school level subjects pertaining to those fields.

I am currently a Master's student at Cornell University. I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science from Cornell in 2016 and I plan to attend medical school in the fall of 2017. I am really excited to be tutoring for Varsity tutors because I really enjoy helping students with subjects that gave me trouble in school. I'm Eisha, a Public Health major at the University of Texas at Austin with an interest in medicine and teaching.

I am a fourth year undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Honors with minors in Computer Science and Business. I have always been passionate about helping others by continuing the chain of mentorship that I received and helping others avoid the same mistakes I once made. Prior to University, I spent my spare time spreading environmental awareness to elementary students, coaching middle school basketball teams, and guiding nascent MathCounts and Science Olympiad programs. Since arriving at UT Austin, I have had the privilege of teaching a classroom of middle schoolers for a semester as part of the UTeach Outreach program. I am most passionate about Math, Computer Science, and the college application process. In my experience helping struggling students prepare their applications for admissions, I have had the most fun reviewing essays and revising resumes. I also enjoy sharing tips and tricks to solving any Standardized Math Test questions! I truly believe education is the key to a better future, and it cannot be taken for granted because of the unequal opportunities that others face. Outside of academia, I enjoy working out, hiking, playing sports with my friends, and showing people new songs!

I'm starting my junior year at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I'm currently getting my degree in biology with a concentration in health and human disease, global health, and a minor in French. I love reading, traveling, learning and helping others learn! I am a graduate of New York University and received my Bachelor of Science in Finance. I am a student at Trinity University currently studying biochemistry. I have experience as a tutor my senior year at Clear Lake High School, when I worked as an instructor at Mathnasium. I also volunteered in a program helping students with SAT prep and college applications. My favorite subject to tutor is math, because the clear cut answers of mathematics make it easy for a student to see their progress and build their confidence, which for me is the best part of tutoring! My teaching style is very flexible, as everyone has different needs, but I usually use a lot of socratic questioning. Outside of academics, my interests include singing, soccer, and most recently, rock climbing!

I am a first year pure math PhD student at Boston College.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University; I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology along with being a minor in Spanish. I also studied at Plano ISD in high school. As Plano ISD is recognized for its academic achievements and competitiveness, I have always been positively challenged by my curriculum and by my peers to improve and to push myself to excel. From a young age, I have always been a part of the Gifted and Talented program. Trying to challenge myself and wanting to be different, I took a risk and joined the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, a program that was not as well recognized at the time and was extremely difficult. Joining the IB program was the best decision I have taken thus far. I gained knowledge from all around world- different insights, different histories, different philosophies, different literature, etc.

I am a prematriculant student at the University of Chicago. In high school I took advanced STEM courses at the University of North Texas through a high school program called the Texas Academy of Math and Science. I love taking high level math courses, but I get even more excited when I can help friends and classmates in courses I have already taken. I believe that having a solid understanding of math concepts builds you up for success in any field. I have experience as a teaching assistant in pre-calculus and calculus and have experience tutoring and assisting students in high school math, calculus, and differential equations. When preparing students for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT, I focus on filling any gaps in material and teaching new techniques for making the test easier and quicker to take. I'm currently attending Rice University- pursuing a double major Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Economics. As you can probably tell I'm very passionate about math, and I'm even more passionate about teaching it! I prefer to teach math a little differently than some of you may used to. Many of students think of math as a plug and chug approach- simply being given formulas and plugging numbers in. While I will give you the formulas and critical things to remember if you insist on it, I prefer to teach mathematics as a form of problem solving. How math works is a beautiful thought process- understanding how a formula was conceived is much more rewarding than simply memorizing it. But in the end it's all up to you- the student. If you want a fast run-down of everything you need to know to ace the test- I'll happily help you. However, if you're willing to think outside of the box and learn some very neat stuff, I'll open the doors to mathematical problem solving for you!

I am graduate of Brown University, where I received a degree in Economics and studied topics ranging from Computer Science and Applied Math to Literary Arts and Philosophy. I even helped create a class during my senior year, working together with other students to write a syllabus, gather reading materials, schedule guest speakers, and ultimately, present the results to an academic dean for course credit. After graduation, I moved to Hong Kong, where I worked at a a summer program at the University of Hong Kong, in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, as a Teaching Assistant in a Game Theory class for advanced middle school students. After the program ended, I traveled around Asia, visiting places in Malaysia and Vietnam before eventually returning to the American South, where, as a native North Carolinian, I feel at home. I usually prefer tutoring in subjects involving math and social sciences but I am very flexible. Outside of education, I love playing guitar and piano, and I have released music both as a solo artist and as part of a band. I also like to play disc golf and lacrosse and enjoy participating in fantasy football.

I'm an undergraduate at Columbia University in New York City, and from this you might think that Varsity has put my profile in the wrong city. They most certainly have not: I am a Houstonian, born and raised, and I'm back in my hometown for the summer. Last year in New York, I worked with Elementary schoolers, helping with preparation for New York State Math and English exams. This summer, I'm looking forward to helping with test-prep for all ages. With the help of some excellent teachers, I myself scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT, helping me get into Columbia, one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Since then, I've wanted to join that elite corps, to help other students conquer standardized testing, complete the college application process, and go further on the road to achieving their dreams. At Columbia, I study Computer Science, but I also have a great passion for the sciences, math, and literature.
