About Me

I have Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Sciences, and I have spent the bulk of my adult life working with computers first as a programmer and systems analyst, and then as an instructor of Computer Sciences, Informatics and Information Technology classes. I worked with some of the first professional desktop computers that came out, and computers still interest me in a way that nothing else really does! Although my teaching experience includes many Software Engineering classes, I am still happiest when I am teaching programming classes Visual Basic, Python, C++, HTML, JavaScript and PHP. I love being there when students discover the thrill of making something work on the computer! I also love teaching Introduction to Computing and the History of Computing to beginners, mostly because I found these things so interesting when I was new to the topic. My teaching philosophy is a simple one: I believe that there is always a way to have some fun with learning!
