During my time as a teacher, I was awarded grants to create and implement a district-wide English program for accelerated and at-risk students. Since that time, I have published three books, "Awakenings," which is a science fiction novel, "Hope in All Things," a short story anthology, and "Journaling For Tweens," a self-help book for kids eleven to fourteen about attaining success through journaling. Since the pandemic began, I started online tutoring and reviewing essays for college students (academic papers, college entrance essays, and practice essays for achievement tests). In the past I've worked as a technical writer and editor as well. For many years now, I've conducted countless writing group sessions in the west Houston area. When I'm not writing, I like to read, swim, spend time with my family, serve at my church, sing, and do late-night runs with my husband to DQ.
