Ready to use my passion for teaching the core principles of patient care to a new generation of aspiring FNP students, I am confident that my years of nursing experience and wealth of knowledge as a preceptor is a perfect match for tutoring students for the AANP exam. For more than 20 years I have held various positions as an FNP and RN at fast-paced and high-volume medical care facilities throughout Columbus, Ohio. During those years, a large part of my focus has been on teaching novice nurses, using my experience as a nurse practitioner to lead educational sessions for students hoping to excel in their clinical rotations. Based upon the Jean Watson Nursing Theory, the mix of instruction and practical application to share best practices and teach valuable principles to nurse practitioner students, helped me become a highly versatile teacher with the ability to adapt and connect fully with the emerging nurses in my care. Primary focus is to teach practices that promote a nurturing work/educational environment where patient and student well-being and actualization is the top priority.
