About Me

I earned a B.S. in Education with a focus on English and History and an M.A. in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University in 2010 and 2015 respectively. I have been a professional secondary educator for over six years, working in middle and high schools in Kansas, Florida, and Michigan. I can tutor middle and high school students in all areas of Language Arts, but my favorite is writing. I love helping kids become better writers. Reading and writing are both very personal experiences. As a teacher and as a tutor, I think it is important to build a more personal relationship between learner and educator, so I use lots of humor and personal experiences when working with students. When I am not working with students, I love reading. My favorite thing to read is young adult fiction, especially fantasy fiction. I also love watching Marvel movies and movies based on Y.A. fiction. I love comparing the book and the movie. Most of my time is spent with my family; I have a husband of six years, a one-and-a-half-year-old son (who keeps my life very exciting), and another boy due in June!
