About Me

I spend most of my day working with first year college students get adjusted to life in higher education. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are in Business, and I am working towards a Master of Arts in Education as well. I think that learning can be fun and anyone can be successful at school, and enjoy helping students realize that it is how well they explain what they know that can make all the difference. I have been previously certified to teach US and World History in Oklahoma, and I work with students on their writing skills daily. I enjoy teaching and helping others achieve their goals.

There is a teaching/learning cycle that must take place for anyone to learn and develop. Teaching is about enabling learning, and taking barriers out of the way for the student. The barriers can be about content, process, or even personal. It is critical for the teacher to understand the needs of each student so they can facilitate the learning and create a productive environment.
