About Me

I graduated Cornell University magna cum laude with degrees in History and Philosophy. After graduation, I consulted for two years and helped build Hawaii's new Health Insurance Marketplace. I also created an educational current events newsletter. I then joined a start up in NYC where I mentored and coached two analysts. I was most drawn to the teaching side of these experiences and find that the skills translate well to tutoring when complemented with my passion for history, English, writing, philosophy, and persuasive argumentation. In the tradition of philosophy, I feel tutoring is most effective using a Socratic dialogue approach, asking the right questions to guide the student to understanding. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, calisthenics, soccer, guitar and live music, reading history and science fiction, and keeping in touch with friends. I plan on attending law school in the near future.
