I am a recent graduate from Spelman College with a B.A. in English and French. I was a French tutor and Writing Center tutor during my time at Spelman. I graduated with honors and in the top ten of my class, so I am knowledgeable about my areas lf study. I am a good listener and will tailor our sessions to how you would best learn. In my spare time, I love to read, write, and bake.

I'm a freelance writer, recent Yale grad, former concert pianist and word lover. For the past three years I've worked as a writing specialist at the Yale College Writing Center, where I edited papers on topics from Turkish prison reform to Faulkner to hemoglobin studies. This past summer, I traveled to 14 countries as part of the singing group Whim 'n Rhythm. On that trip, I taught a cappella, singing and choral workshops with students of all ages. It was incredible and hugely affirming -- music is truly a global language!
I am passionate about tutoring and helping each and every student I meet achieve to their greatest academic potential.
I'm currently a third-year dental student pursuing a DMD degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.
With certifications to teach French from PreK through 12th grade, experience teaching AP French, and a master's degree specifically in Teaching French as a Second or Foreign Language, Ariana knows the pedagogical side of this exam as well as the linguistic side. She tackles the gap between students who can conjugate correctly on a worksheet and students who can deploy those same structures fluidly in a timed persuasive essay or spontaneous conversation task — the shift that separates 3s from 5s.
I'm a Ph.D. candidate in French Studies at UCLA finishing my dissertation about contemporary French literature. My main research specializations are French language and literature. However, I also have a certification in critical theory and conduct research in cultural studies and music history. I have taught first- and second-year French classes at UCLA for four years, and before that, I taught first-year French for 3 years at the University of Kansas.
I am a rising Senior currently studying neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. Science and particularly the inner workings of the brain have been a passion of mine from a very young age, where I remember candidly telling my mother that I would be a neurosurgeon one day.
Scoring well on AP French means doing more than conjugating verbs — it requires interpreting authentic texts, constructing persuasive arguments in writing, and speaking with cultural nuance. Evan earned his bachelor's in French Literature, so he brings native-level reading fluency and a deep understanding of Francophone culture to every element of the exam, from the interpersonal writing task to the cultural comparison presentation.
While French isn't Andrea's primary specialty, her experience with language-based SAT Subject Tests in Spanish gives her a structured framework for tackling AP-level language exams. She approaches AP French prep analytically, breaking down the exam's listening, reading, and writing components so students know exactly what each section demands.
I am 22 years old and just graduated from the University of Kentucky with a double degree in French and Biochemistry. I have been a tutor for over a year now at UK's tutoring center. I believe that anyone can learn anything with enough practice and encouragement, and I love helping students overcome challenges and gain more self-confidence!
Claire started learning French at age five, majored in it at Brown, and spent a full semester in Senegal speaking nothing but French in daily life. For AP French, she digs into the interpretive and presentational communication tasks that trip students up most — teaching them to construct persuasive arguments in French and to listen for nuance in authentic audio sources.
I am a graduate of the Ohio State University, where I completed a BA summa cum laude in linguistics and Romance studies with specializations in French, Spanish, and Italian. I then completed a JD at Cornell University, where I used my language skills to focus on international and comparative law, as well as developing particular skills in criminal law and general trial advocacy. In addition, I spent a year in France at the Universit Paris 1 Panthon-Sorbonne, where I obtained an LLM (master of laws) in French, European, and international law. Outside of academia, I have worked as a document translator and an in-court interpreter in both French and Spanish and have worked directly with French- and Spanish-speaking clients in legal and financial settings. As an undergraduate student, I was French-language liaison to the Modern Languages and Cultures Undergraduate Council, in which position I oversaw tutoring sessions, organized conversation and culture hours, and represented the interests of Francophone students and French learners at Council meetings. In addition, I co-directed an outreach program to local elementary schools, teaching both French and Spanish to children in grades K-4. On the legal side, I have worked in immigration, contract, family, and criminal law, and have been a teaching assistant for legal courses and served as a graduate-student mentor for pre-law students.
Ben tutored beginning French classes in Dartmouth's French department and then spent a full year living in France, which means his AP French instruction is grounded in how the language actually sounds and functions — not just textbook conjugation tables. He zeroes in on the presentational writing and interpersonal speaking tasks that carry the most weight on exam day.
Nine years of French study and two immersive experiences in France — one in Brest and one at Université de Vincennes Saint-Denis in Paris — gave Clancy the kind of cultural fluency the AP French exam demands. She tackles the interpersonal and presentational speaking tasks by coaching students to think in French rather than mentally translating, and she unpacks the cultural comparison essay with concrete strategies for weaving in real-world knowledge.
I'm a student at Brown University with an eclectic set of interests. I am trilingual, analytical, and creative and look forward to tutoring you! :)
I'm New York City born and raised. I graduated from the University of Chicago last year with a degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. I am developing my own teaching methods to evolve traditional East Asian and French language acquisition, and to do this I need even more experience. My course of study has been directed at learning as much as I can about the culture, economy, and history of East Asia, China and Japan in particular. I view myself as someone who is entrepreneurial, collegial, individually motivated to produce high quality work, as well as foster a love of the subject which I teach. I am compassionate and enjoy working with both children and adults. I believe I have something to learn from everyone I meet.
